A small Museum located right on the harbourside of the beautiful fishing village of Polperro. The Museum contains a fascinating insight into the history of fishing and smuggling from the late 18th Century to date.

It houses a remarkable photographic record dating from around 1860. The collection is complemented by a wonderful collection of ships models. Family history is also well catered for with records available for viewing. The collection is housed in what was the old pilchard factory until the early 20th century.

Museum opening hours:

April (Easter) – October (Half Term):
10:30 – 4 daily.

November – April: closed

Tearoom opening hours:

April (Easter) – October (Half Term):
Open 7 days a week 9 – 5.

November – Xmas: Usually open several days a week, including weekends

Xmas – Easter: please check.

Come and have a cuppa, cream tea or snack with spectacular views over the harbour

The Museum Tearoom is located next to the  Museum, ‘out the Warren ‘on the way to the Coastal Path to Looe. It has picturesque views over the harbour

Stocking a wide range of pastries, cakes, scones and much more. It is the perfect place for a morning coffee, pasty lunch or afternoon cream tea.
